Sending setup
Choose your key
Use either on-screen control with a finger on your phone or tablet, or with a keyboard. No external key or radio is needed.
Prompts use receiving, echo sending, and sending from memory. Operational checkpoints preserve the order of a complete contact. Written dot/dash answers stay hidden.
15 WPM · Straight key
Score 10 out of 12 correct with at least 55% timing.
Listen…
The attempt ends automatically after a character-length pause.
Keyboard controls: Space for straight key, or Z/X for dit/dah paddles. Touchscreen controls remain fully supported, and held input releases safely if focus is lost.
How does this key work?
On-screen straight key: press and hold for the length of each dit or dah, then release for the gap — a quick press is a dit, holding about three times as long is a dah. You control every element length and every gap yourself.
On-screen paddle with automatic keyer: the keyer sends perfectly-timed dits and dahs for you — you never set how long an element lasts. Tap a paddle for one element, or hold it down to repeat that element automatically. You control the sequence of dits and dahs and the pause between characters.
- Rest the device on a stable surface instead of gripping it tightly.
- Keep your thumb or finger relaxed. Tap or hold, then lift cleanly to release.
- In paddle mode, use one finger on each side; a two-finger squeeze is supported.
- The key surface prevents page scrolling while you are keying. Scrolling works normally everywhere else.
Phone or tablet: rest it on a stable surface and use one relaxed thumb or finger.

Keyboard and practice help
Keyboard controls: press a learned letter or number to answer; Enter activates the focused command or native control; Space sends only in a sending key surface; Tab moves between controls. The lamp and original replay use the configured replay shortcut.
Replay only plays the sound. A practice retry is unscored, so your first answer remains the one counted. Missed signals stay in the lesson queue for reinforcement.

Service record
Your progress
Progress records demonstrated practice. It never changes account or premium access.
50 XP for your first counted pass, then 100 XP at the lesson's authored mastery milestone. Up to 150 XP per lesson; early repeats add no XP.
Lessons passed again after the retention interval.
Consecutive practice days: UTC for signed-in progress, device-local for guest practice.
Small steps, lasting skill
Your practice milestones
Personal practice achievements, not radio qualifications. Levels and XP never unlock paid content or bypass lesson prerequisites.
